During her time in Charter Management, Abi has built a portfolio of prestigious yachts, including the iconic 82m ALFA NERO, and has built up a wealth of knowledge and industry expertise. After completing a diploma to become a Personal Assistant, her first job was as an Executive Secretary at the luxury hotel at St Jean Cap Ferrat. During this time, she worked for a range of distinguished and discerning clientele. Thereafter, she decided to move to London for two and a half years, gaining valuable experience as the Personal Assistant to the General Manager in a five-star hotel. After a stint in hospitality, he joined the yachting industry in 2010, as Financial Controller of M/Y BIG FISH, where he also worked on board as deck crew, undertaking charters in the Mediterranean, Caribbean and French Polynesia. James then joined Asia Yacht Management Ltd in Hong Kong as Yacht Manager of three superyachts based there. James is a passionate scuba diver and wakeboarder during his leisure time. Based in Hong Kong, James speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin and joined the Burgess Asia team in 2016. He brings to the Charter Management team a wealth of wide-ranging commercial experience, together with a strong network of brokers, captains and crew. Expertise & Skills His career began in contract negotiation and brochure writing on European cities for a luxury travel company, invaluable experience which transferred well to the yachting industry. He holds a BA in foreign literature from King’s College, London and speaks fluent English, French and Italian, and some German. From there, Kenny worked in a London casino before joining the cruise ships where he moved up through the ranks to the position of Casino Manager and travelled globally for the next 15 years. In 2001, he chose to make his home in the USA and shortly afterwards was introduced to the yachting industry. While working closely alongside an experienced yacht interior designer, Kenny earned his Interior Design diploma at the Fort Lauderdale Art Institute. He grew up in Bath in the southwest of the UK, but after school, he moved to Greece to work as a qualified sailing instructor and flotilla skipper. Throughout his yachting career, Alex gained significant charter experience while working on some of the most popular and prestigious yachts which include BATON ROUGE and FLAG. He travelled extensively throughout the Mediterranean and US/Caribbean, working his way from Deckhand to Chief Officer and finally achieving his Master 3000 and becoming a Captain.
